Work Progress Friday
Yesterday, our group spend the day waching youtube turtorials in order to get more familiar with the prgramme Leximancer.
We learned to understand the meaning of concepts in more detail and found out that we can add so called stop-lists in order to avoid “meaningless” small words. Furthermore, we learned tu use the “concept sensitivity” which allows us to choose the number of concepts we want to analyse.
We also already talked about how to analyse the data next week and came up with the following ideas:
1) Analyse the whole time span in order to find out the general discourse of the week we chose.
2) Show a trend several days in a row)
or
3) Choose three days (before the coup, the coup itself, and probably the last day of our data collection).
We know that that is possible because the tutorial showed us that we can seperate the data into independent folders whoch means that we have to extract them in Excel again!
My workingplan for the weekend is Leximancer, Leximancer, Leximancer.
I will abstain from posting every day what I found out . The learning process is identical for every teammember and the summery by the teamleader is representative for my learningprocess. Posting the same over and over again would just make the blog “spammy”
